Learn how to set tips calculation method on the Merchant Console
As a Merchant, you have the ability to set how your tips are calculated. You can choose if you want to include taxes and fees as part of your tip calculation, or to exclude them and calculate based on subtotal.
Including taxes and fees in your tip calculation will increase tip profits for your servers. Excluding taxes and fees will allow for more transparency with your customers. It’s up to you to decide, however, Copper sets the default to exclude taxes and fees.
To set you tip calculation method, from the Console home page, click “Location”.
Select location needs the tip calculation method updated.
Click on “Payment Setting” in the top right corner.
A pop-up will appear with the setting. Toggle the “include tax and fees” to include taxes and fees in your calculation. Toggle off to exclude.
After you have set the tip calculation method, click save. The tip calculation method will be updated.
